Welcome
Inspired by Differential Privacy in Practice: Expose your Epsilons! by Cynthia Dwork, Nitin Kohli, and Deirdre Mulligan, this registry provides:
A publicly available communal body of knowledge about differential privacy implementations that can be used by various stakeholders to drive the identification and adoption of judicious differentially private implementations -Dwork Kohli Mulligan 2019
The purpose of this registry is to support the responsible adoption of differential privacy in practice. Differential privacy is widely regarded as a gold standard approach to protecting data privacy, but there are currently few guidelines or recommendations for how it should be deployed. In many cases, deployment decisions are context specific.
This registry aims to make these choices transparent, particularly to practitioners deploying differential privacy. The goal is to support informed debate and decision-making, using existing deployments as a baseline. Overtime, the goal is to see an emergence of best practices.
The registry provides space to describe important technical and sociotechnical dimensions of any given deployment. As applications of differential privacy grow and evolve over time, these dimensions may ENT also expand.
